# 夏の涼味、「流れ梅」

厳しい夏の日差しを感じる今日このごろ、身体は自然と涼を求めます。そんな時、目と舌に心地良い涼しさを運んでくれるのが、この「流れ梅」です。
新潟で150年以上続く老舗菓子店、大阪屋の「流れ梅」。賞味期限は6日間と長くはありませんが通販も可能です
私が「流れ梅」を初めて知ったのは、およそ15年前。ある和菓子店で、よく冷やした流れ梅の試食をさせていただいた時のこと。甘さと同時に感じる梅の爽やかな酸味が印象に残り、それが夏の和菓子にぴったりだと感じました。それ以来、流れ梅は私の夏の楽しみになりました。
流れ梅は葛切りを思わせるややもちっとした食感のある麺状のゼリーと、深い甘さのある梅果汁が一体となった一品です。甘さがありつつも、爽やかな酸っぱさが口の中で広がり、そのバランスが心地よい涼感を生み出します。
*特におすすめしたいのが、流れ梅に氷を加えて食べる方法。氷が少しずつ溶けることでソースが薄まり、それが逆にさっぱりとした味わいに変わり、一層の清涼感を感じられます。ただし、この流れ梅は夏季限定での販売。それがまた一年を通して楽しみに待つ特別感を高めてくれます。*
「流れ梅」をおすすめする理由は、その美味しさだけでなく、目でも楽しませてくれるところ。その名の如く、透明なゼリーはまるで「流れる梅の川」のようで、その爽やかな味わいが五感全てを通じて夏の季節を感じさせてくれます。一度味わえば、きっとその魅力に惹かれることと思います。
