# コーヒーが飲みたくなる家の考察

〈コーヒーが飲みたくなる家〉と聞いて、みなさんはどんな家を思い浮かべるでしょうか？そんなことを、少し真面目になって考えてきたのが、カフェノマです。僕たちには、活動をはじめた10年前から変わらない、原点のような思いがあります。その思いとは、「コーヒーを飲むときの空間こそ大切したい」というもの。今回はそのことをふまえながら、コーヒーが飲みたくなる家について、文章にしてみたいと思います。
## 好きなものに囲まれながら飲みたい

自宅のインテリアや小物は、すべて相方の弓庭（ゆば）が集めたものです。前職が客室乗務員だったこともあり、雑貨好きの彼女は、フライト先で出会ったお気に入りのコーヒー道具や食器を大事に持ち帰り、家に飾っていました。弓庭は、好きなものに囲まれながらコーヒーが飲みたい、と言います。
ひとつひとつ買い集めたArabiaのビンテージカップ。2012年の暮れにはじめたカフェノマの活動は、彼女の趣味が少しずつ仕事になり、２冊の本になって現在に至ります
## 言葉にならないオノマトペ

彼女の言う、好きなものに囲まれながらコーヒーが飲みたいってどういうこと？と、そんな素朴な疑問が湧いてきます。なんでも理屈で考えたい僕は、執拗にこのことを聞いてきました。ところが、彼女は理由はわからないと云います。さらにしつこく聞くと、コーヒーを飲みながら満足気に「あぁ」とか「ふぅ」といって微笑むばかり。この言葉にならない〈オノマトペ〉がすべてだと云わんばかりに、です。

このことを理解できるようになったのは、じつは割と最近のことです。あるTV番組を観ているとき、なるほど、この人は弓庭と同じだ、ということに気づきました。
## 好きなものを眺めながら暮らす人々
弓庭は、コーヒーと同じかそれ以上に家が好きだといいます。そんな彼女が欠かさず観てきたTV番組が「渡辺篤史の建もの探訪」。番組ホストの俳優・渡辺篤史さんが住宅を訪れ、家主のこだわりを探る長寿番組です。
彼女に付き合うように番組をみていると、大きなリビングの壁一面がすべて本で埋め尽くされたお宅をときどき見かけます。あるいは、ガレージ（車庫）とリビングが内窓で繋がった家もありました。車庫のオートバイやクルマが室内から見えるようなお宅です。
くつろぐ居場所をかえてコーヒーを楽しむことも
好きな本やオートバイを眺めて暮らす生活。それを楽しむことを前提にした間取りであり家、というわけです。番組中、本やオートバイを眺める家主の表情を見ているときに、あぁ、これは弓庭のそれと同じだ、ということに気づきました。出演者はみなさん、好きなものを眺めながら暮らす生活に理由などない、と言わんばかりの笑顔です。番組ホストの渡辺さんとの会話は、いやがうえにも盛り上がります。
## コーヒーが飲みたくなる家とは
コーヒーが飲みたくなる家とはなにか。今のところのぼくの結論はこうです。好きなモノがあって、そのあるべき位置が整ったら、フーっと息をついてソファや椅子に腰掛けます。その時、それらを眺めながら、ほっとして思わずコーヒーが飲みたいと思えたら、それはその人なりの〈コーヒーが飲みたくなる家〉ということです。
好きなものに囲まれた空間にどっぷりと浸りながら過ごす時間こそ、その人にとって最良のひと時といえるのかもしれません。
