On occasion, I find myself reminiscing about the sway of a hammock I experienced at a lodging. Introducing a hammock into our apartment life can be challenging due to space constraints. When I spotted this rocking chair at a nearby vintage furniture store, I intuitively knew, "This could be the alternative to a hammock.”

The perfect curvature of the armrests and backrest. Sitting in this chair, sipping a coffee while gazing around the living room has become a small pleasure.

Initially, it was placed in a corner of the room, reserved for moments of relaxation. However, each encounter with its comfort made me want to use the chair more frequently. Therefore, I decided to replace one of the dining chairs with the rocking chair.

When seated on a rug, the chair offers a wrap-around comfort for the upper body.

This choice seemed to work surprisingly well. When working on the computer, the rigid posture loosens up, making the work smoother. In the evenings, when leisurely enjoying a drink and meal, one can surrender to the swaying chair and relax.

The rocking chair by Illum Wikkelsø, beautiful even when not in use. The vertical slats extending gently from the top to the seat wrap around the upper body.

The rocking chair has become an indispensable part of our daily life. It offers relaxation with its comfortable sway, adding a soothing touch to our busy days. At the end of the day, sitting in this chair, sipping coffee, has added a new comforting place in our lives.
